The Times report Tottenham are one of five Premier League clubs looking to sign Hull City winger Keane Lewis-Potter. But Leeds should join the race, with Lewis-Potter boasting something in common with two Leeds players.

Keane-Potter, 20, has been on fire in England’s second tier of late for Hull. In 28 games this season, he has had a hand in 10 goals – slightly reminiscent of that of Jarrod Bowen’s rise with Grant McCann’s side.

The Times say that Spurs have joined West Ham, Southampton, Leicester and Brentford in the race for Lewis-Potter. Brentford are said to have had an £8million bid rejected for the Hull-born ace last summer.

Tottenham are keen on bringing in English talent before they reach the Premier League – like they did with Dele Alli. Meanwhile, West Ham are concerned they could lose Bowen with Liverpool interested.

Our View: Why Leeds should join Tottenham in Lewis-Potter race…

Leeds have options out wide. Raphinha, Dan James, Jack Harrison – and then in the Under-23 side on the verge of a proper first-team breakthrough Crysencio Summerville, Liam McCarron and Stuart McKinstry.

But Raphinha could go in the summer, and the trio of youngsters are not yet good enough to get a regular slot in the senior side. A winger could be targeted in the summer and Lewis-Potter would be ideal.

Not least because he was born in Hull, but because he has something in common with two Leeds stars. TransferMarkt say he is represented by the same agency that looks after Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas.

Using that connection with Dallas and Cooper’s agents, Leeds should find striking a deal for Lewis-Potter might be easier than their Premier League rivals. Lewis-Potter has huge potential, and Leeds must capitalise.
