The Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has embroiled his Ibrox side in a Scottish Premiership title race.

If reports that Rangers players Alfredo Morelos and Glen Kamara are being monitored by English sides Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are true, is it only a matter of time until a third member of Steven Gerrard’s side catches the eye?
Morelos and Kamara have each impressed for Rangers this season in different ways: the former has scored 18 goals in 23 games, while the latter has provided the protective shield for a defence which has kept clean sheets in 10 of his 17 appearances.
Two of Morelos’s strikes arrived against Ross County on Wednesday, alongside one of Kamara’s shut-outs.
But it was another of Rangers’ scorers who, arguably, stole the show in Dingwall – helping himself to a double of his own.
After handing him a new four-year contract just last week, Gerrard described Ryan Jack as “a real leader and winner on the pitch,” and added: “We believe that there is a lot more to come from him before he reaches his potential” [BBC Sport].
Rangers’ Ross County rout was only the second time Jack had featured since the opening week of October, owing to an injury.
Had he been present throughout that time, it would have come as no surprise to see his name associated with the likes of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace instead – their scouts, it is suggested, have been watching [Daily Mail].

The 27-year-old has now scored or assisted four more goals (five) than Kamara from an albeit slightly more advanced position, and having played one game more.
And if Jack’s form continues in the coming two months – which Wednesday’s showing suggests it will – Rangers may soon be glad of their recent bit of business.
His new deal enough, they will hope, to deter potential suitors such as Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
