It’s been such a good last few weeks for Arsenal that some fans might be expecting a bombshell for the sake of balance.
First, they signed Gabriel Magalhaes after weeks of speculation, before adding Dani Ceballos on another season-long loan from Real Madrid.
Then, last weekend, Arsenal thumped Fulham 3-0 to kick off their Premier League campaign with a rousing win, one that helped convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stick around as the red-hot Gabon striker signed a new three-year deal on Tuesday.
All in all, things are going pretty good, but there’s a potential piece of bad news that should worry the Emirates Stadium faithful.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus are interested in Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
ESPN claimed last week that Arsenal were the team that had shown the most interest in signing him this summer.
But the longer this goes without a successful resolution, the more chance that another club could hijack it – and if that club is possibly Juve, it’s definitely a concern.
As attractive as Arsenal are right now, the Italian champions – champions, being the operative word – also have a hell of a lot of pull.
And Aouar, being a midfielder, probably wouldn’t say no to playing with the likes of Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo.
If they’re genuinely interested then the North Londoners should consider them a genuine threat and Arsenal – rumoured to be ready to make a bid – need to get this done as soon as possible.
