It looks like Leeds United are set to sign Michaël Cuisance.
According to the Daily Mail, a medical has already been arranged for the Bayern Munich playmaker in West Yorkshire.
But if and when Leeds announce that deal, Tyler Roberts could be the big loser from it.
Rodrigo, a striker, played in that number 10 role ahead of Roberts in the win at Sheffield United last weekend, with the Wales international coming off at half-time.
With Pablo Hernandez already at Elland Road, it just looks so likely that Roberts may become surplus to requirements if Cuisance comes.
The 21-year-old has managed 118 minutes of Premier League football across three games on Leeds’ return to the big time.
At the moment, he is already struggling for regular football and it’s just so difficult to see that improving when Cuisance, another obstacle between him and the first XI, comes in.
Roberts, a £4 million signing in 2018, has been a huge player for Marcelo Bielsa, who transformed the former West Brom striker into an attacking midfielder after Samu Saiz left in the winter of 2019.
And although it’ll break Bielsa’s heart if he has to consign Roberts to even less playing time, it has to be done if United feel that Cuisance will be a big asset this season.
