Things aren’t looking good for Sead Kolasinac at Arsenal.

The former Schalke defender, who earns £110,000 per week at the Emirates Stadium, had only managed 177 minutes of Premier League action under Gunners boss Mikel Arteta before the hiatus in the season.

He clearly wasn’t in that Arteta’s plans all that much, but an injury has exacerbated his situation at Arsenal.

And now, according to The Sun, Arteta wants Nicolas Tagliafico in North London.

The Ajax defender is, like Kolasinac, a left-back and there’d be no need for the Bosnia & Herzegovina international if Tagliafico arrives.

Arteta would have him, Kieran Tierney, Bukayo Saka and Kolasinac as left-back options.

In other words, the powerful defender would be fourth in the pecking order and it just makes no sense to stick around if that is the reality in a few months time.

If Tagliafico is signed, it’s very possible that the club will look to offload Kolasinac.
