It took Gabriel Magalhaes less than two hours to apologise for his red card in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Southampton last night.
The Brazilian centre-back picked up two yellow cards to become the third Gunners player to be sent off in the space of five games.
Prior to Gabriel, the culprit was Granit Xhaka.
The Swiss saw red in Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat by Burnley on Sunday night, for grabbing Ashley Westwood by the throat.
And Gabriel has just embarrassed his Arsenal team-mate with his post on Instagram.
That’s because Xhaka still hasn’t apologised to Gunners fans or acknowledged the indiscretion in any way.
If you’re a big reason as to why your team lost – and Mikel Arteta’s side were well on top at the time of his dismissal, with the score at 0-0 – then you simply have to man up and shoulder some responsibility, just like Gabriel has done.
The former Lille man is only 22 and this was his 12th Premier League game – ever.
Xhaka is 28, the club’s former captain and has been in English football since 2016 and it’s just not a good look if his younger, much more inexperienced team-mate is taking accountability for his mistake and he’s ducking it.
