Fulham face off against Liverpool this weekend, and over the years a fair few players have played for both Fulham and Liverpool over the years.
Paul Konchesky and Steve Finnan are two names that will be fondly remembered by Fulham fans, while Lazar Markovic and Jari Litmanen are two figures that the Craven Cottage faithful may want to forget.
However, the most recent player to swap Craven Cottage for Anfield was none other than Harvey Elliott, a young player whose career is just getting started.
However, it already looks as though Fulham may live to regret letting him move to the Reds on a free transfer.
Liverpool have paid absolutely nothing for Elliott so far, with the Merseyside club still yet to pay the compensation fee they owe Fulham, but that isn’t the biggest kick in the teeth.
Elliott looks like a talent, there’s no doubt about it, he scored again on Saturday taking his goal contribution tally for the season up to seven, which is a mean feat for a 17-year-old who is getting his first taste of regular first-team football.
He’s impressed so much that Liverpool fans have been calling for him to get a go in the first-team next season.
You could say that this was to be expected from the youngest player to ever make his debut in the Premier League, but as every Fulham fan sadly knows, that record doesn’t necessarily mean all that much, just look at how Matthew Briggs’ career has turned out.

Unfortunately for the Whites, it looks as though Elliott’s career is going to go in the opposite direction, and if he does go on to be the superstar you’d expect a teenager who was courted by Real Madrid to be, Fulham will be kicking themselves for losing him at such a young age.
Of course, Fulham couldn’t do anything about losing Elliott, it was his choice to leave and he was out of contract, but the fact of the matter is that he looks to be a future star and Fulham could really have done with having a player like him at the club, even if it was just to cash in on him further down the line.
However, Fulham are now without Elliott and without a penny in their bank account for their troubles.
We can only hope that when this compensation debacle is all done and dusted, the Whites get a fair fee for the 17-year-old, but we’ll just have to wait and see on that one.
