Well, Rhian Brewster has left Liverpool.

The 20-year-old striker has joined Sheffield United in a £23.5 million move.

With a few days left in the transfer window, he isn’t the last player who Liverpool are going to sell between now and Monday.

There is also speculation about Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic leaving Anfield.

And if rumours are believed, all three could sum up Michael Edwards’s genius at the negotiation table.

That’s because there’s talk of the Reds picking up £20 million apiece for Grujic and Wilson and, if that happens, Liverpool will have received over £60 million for the trio.

To put this into context, they have eight Premier League appearances for the club between them – and all of them are Grujic, who hasn’t played for them since 2017.

So to get over £60 million for two fringe players and one with potential would just be stunning piece of business.

Yes, some Liverpool fans are a bit raw about Brewster, who is hands-down the most talented of all three and could be a fine Premier League player.

But the club has also has a buy-back option that can be triggered in any window between now and 2023, adding a bit of insurance for Edward and Jurgen Klopp.
