Dele Alli’s hopes of turning his season around at Tottenham Hotspur may have suffered another blow with the news that they are chasing Marcel Sabitzer.

Football London say that Sabitzer is right at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist for the summer, which does little to enhance Alli’s chances of making it back into Jose Mourinho’s plans.

Alli has already struggled to nail down his place in Spurs’ starting line-up this season, even with Tottenham often not having a natural playmaker to pick.

Tanguy Ndombele has played in a deeper role, while Giovani Lo Celso has been injured for much of the season.

However, Alli has still been overlooked – with Mourinho now using Lucas Moura more centrally.

If Tottenham do now go and sign Sabitzer, then Alli’s opportunities could become even more remote.

And Spurs’ latest reported transfer plan just looks like more bad news for the England international, who has endured a miserable campaign in North London.
