Injuries to both Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe appear to be a nightmare for Arsenal before their match against Liverpool.

Saka has remained at Arsenal over the international break as he looks to recover from a problem, while Smith Rowe was ruled out of England under-21’s last match at the European Champions by Aidy Bothroyd yesterday (London Evening Standard).

While it still hasn’t been confirmed that the Arsenal pair won’t play at the weekend, there are doubts over their availability now.

Charles Watts said on his own Youtube channel that Arsenal will make a late decision over whether to actually play Saka at the weekend.

It speaks volumes for the young duo’s progress this season that the news they are both absent now has to be seen as a major blow.

Arsenal will lose a lot of their creativity if they are unable to start both Smith Rowe and Saka.

And with a resurgent Liverpool side their next opponent, Arsenal fans could be forgiven for fearing the worst, given the latest injury news.
