Two more clubs are reportedly keen on signing William Saliba from Arsenal.
The 20-year-old joined Arsenal in a £27 million deal two years ago but still hasn’t made his competitive debut for the Premier League club.
He impressed on a half-season loan with Nice last term and has been strongly linked with a move to Marseille this summer.
But Ouest France has reported that Rennes and Benfica are now making their interest known to Arsenal.
Swap opportunity?
If the Rennes link is genuine then it provides the Gunners with quite an interesting opportunity.
That’s because Arsenal are also linked with Eduardo Camavinga, the 18-year-old midfielder who’s tipped for a massive future after Paul Pogba labelled him a ‘little dancer‘.
And if both pieces of speculation is true then you would imagine that Edu and Mikel Arteta could look to engineer something of a swap deal between the Emirates Stadium side and Rennes.
Or at least, using Saliba as a makeweight toward lowering Camavinga’s price.
The French club value him at £43 million [Le10] but that goes way down light of the fact he wants to leave [RMC Sport].
And despite Saliba having not kicked a ball for Arsenal, he remains a very well thought-of player and still only 20, his £27 million price-tag should remain the same, in light of his heroics in Ligue 1 last term.
