Arsenal reportedly have their sights on signing relegated defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

The big man couldn’t keep Fulham in the Premier League last term but he may still wind up staying in the top flight.

That’s because The Daily Mail has reported that Arsenal are weighing up a bid for the centre-back.

And if they get him, it could be an exciting purchase.

Could he be the Gunners’ Van Dijk?

Virgil van Dijk is arguably the best centre-back in the Premier League but the former Manchester City youth has some of the same attributes which has made the Liverpool powerhouse such a good player.

Van Dijk is lightning quick but The Daily Mail reported that Adarabioyo clocked the fastest sprint time of any central defender in England’s top flight last term.

In addition to that, the Dutchman is a huge physical presence at 6’4, but the Cottagers stalwart is an inch taller.

Arsenal would only have to spend £10 million on the 23-year-old [The Daily Mail].

And although there’s a bit more to Van Dijk than just height and speed, the Gunners absolutely need a central defender with both qualities after finishing eighth last season.
