Arsenal are reportedly in the race to sign Hakan Calhanoglu.
It has been reported by Milan Live, that Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing the Turkey international.
And although he’s leaving San Siro on a free transfer as things stand, there’s still a matter of finances.
That’s because personal terms could dictate who wins the race to sign the former Bayer Leverkusen playmaker.
But if one rumour from Italy is true, the Gunners could blow one main rival out of the water.
Sky Sport Italia have reported that Atletico Madrid have offered him a £2.5 million signing on bonus and a salary of £50,000 per week.

And logically, Arsenal could offer a much more attractive package to Calhanoglu – who’s been compared to Mesut Ozil – if they’re genuinely interested.
It’s true that the North Londoners have no Champions League revenue coming in anytime soon, but they didn’t have elite European football to offer Nicolas Pepe, Piere-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette when they smashed their transfer record on signing those three in the last four years.
In other words, Arsenal aren’t short of a few bob and there’s no reason why they can’t gazump Atletico’s reported offer if they really do want Calhanoglu.
