Liverpool have already started plotting how they’re going to win their Premier League title back.

The Reds mounted a dismal defence of their title last season but it must be noted that they were missing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for almost the whole campaign.

A lack of centre-backs undoubtedly played a role in the Reds only scraping a top-four finish in the end, but the addition of Ibrahima Konate, combined with the returns of Van Dijk, Gomez and Joel Matip, mean Jurgen Klopp’s side should be a lot better next season.

But let’s not forget, Liverpool also have problems at the other end.

Sure, Mohamed Salah had a brilliant season and scored over 30 goals again, but Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino managed only a combined 25 goals in 96 games between them across all competitions.

Liverpool need Coman

In short, Klopp also needs to add attacking players and one man he should seriously consider is Kingsley Coman.

According to Sky Germany, the Bayern Munich winger has handed in a transfer request and more interestingly, would be open to a switch to the Premier League.

With Manchester United focusing on Jadon Sancho and Coman having a valuation of £85 million, there’s only a few realistic options and with no speculation about a move to Chelsea or Manchester City, Liverpool should strike.

The France international can play on both wings and can be lethal on either.

And at 25, he could be considered a long-term replacement for one of Mane or Salah, one of whom is 29 and the other turns 29 on Tuesday.

Speed is a huge part of their game and like it or not, this will diminish over the coming years.

If Coman isn’t on Liverpool’s radar, then Klopp should be looking at a very similar type of star and with the player reportedly trying to leave Germany, why not consider taking him to Merseyside?
