Liverpool are in a real pickle ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s a top-of-the-table clash at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp doesn’t appear to have many centre-back options – well, senior ones anyway.

Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are both obviously injured and it remains to be seen if Joel Matip recovers from the back injury that forced him off midway through the 1-1 draw at Fulham on Sunday evening.

For the second 45 minutes at Craven Cottage, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were Liverpool’s centre-backs and if that’s the case again tomorrow, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be drafted into midfield.

The former Arsenal star, a £40 million signing in 2017, hasn’t played since July due to injury, but he did make the bench at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

And if Henderson and Fabinho are forced to play in central defence, it leaves Klopp – who also might be without Naby Keita – with Curtis Jones, Gini Wijnaldum and Oxlade-Chamberlain as midfield options.

Considering he uses a three-man midfield, options are tight and the German manager may have little choice but to recall the latter.
