Back at the start of October, The Telegraph revealed that Leeds were interested in signing Leicester’s Demarai Gray.
However, Marcelo Bielsa experienced complications in his pursuit of the former Birmingham man, and decided to turn his attention to Rennes forward Raphinha.
Of course, Leeds successfully secured the Brazilian’s signature, although we opine that Gray will be gutted that the Yorkshire-based side did manage to find an alternative to him.
Why? Well, so far this season, the 24-year-old has just one appearance to his name, which came in the Carabao Cup.
Football365 outline that Gray – who cost Leicester £3.7 million – is among a group of players who are yet to even be named on the bench in the Premier League this season.

Brendan Rodgers appears to have completely lost interest in the Leicester No.7, and we presume that Gray will be kicking himself that Leeds didn’t make more of an effort to sign him before opting for Raphinha.
It is sad to see an English talent rotting away on the sidelines.

Who knows – perhaps Leeds will resurrect their interest for the attacker later down the line. After securing Raphinha, however, that feels unlikely.
For Gray’s sake, we hope he can escape the King Power Stadium, or is at least handed a lifeline by Rodgers.
