Newcastle could be ready to listen to offers for playmaker Miguel Almiron ahead of the summer window. A player, that shows all the necessary characteristics to shine under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United.

Almiron, 28, has started just three of Eddie Howe’s 13 Premier League matches in charge and with an influx of new signings expected in the summer – the Paraguay international could be allowed to leave the club.

The Chronicle reports that Newcastle and Almiron will have end-of-season talks to discuss his future. Given the increasing competition, and Jacob Murphy and Ryan Fraser being used over him, he is likely to go.

But there have been glimpses of quality during 111 appearances for Newcastle – scoring 13 goals and laying on five assists, the majority of which has come under the incredibly defensive-minded Steve Bruce.

Why Leeds should consider a move for Newcastle ace Almiron…

If Almiron is available, Leeds should really consider a move. That is because his best traits are just what Marcelo Bielsa looks for in a player. Even if Bielsa does leave soon, Leeds will want to continue his legacy.

Almiron has plenty of pace, quality and can score goals. But more importantly, he is versatile – being able to play as a 10 or on either wing. Bielsa prefers versatile players, allowing him to have a smaller squad.

As well as that, Almiron’s work rate is superb. His stamina levels are excellent, and that again – fits into the Bielsa dynamic. He has everything Bielsa would want at Leeds, in a summer signing.

His agent spoke recently, stating Almiron has a release clause worth £60million – but he is valued a whole lot less. Bought for £21million, Newcastle might request even less than that. He improves Leeds.
