Renato Sanches has constantly been linked with a move to the Premier League as he reignites his career at Lille. But it looks like a move to Milan is coming his way – which will leave Arsenal and Liverpool feeling regret.

Sanches, 24, joined Lille in the summer of 2019 from Bayern Munich having seen his career fail to live up to its early hype. Struggling for game time at Bayern, he endured a difficult loan spell at Swansea City – playing 15 times.

But at Lille, the Portugal international is finally showing why so many raved about him. His form at Euro 2020 for Portugal too, has seen numerous clubs throw their hat into the ring to sign him this summer.

90Min now report Paolo Maldini is set to win the race to sign him – with Liverpool and Arsenal named as interested. But it is the fee that will leave Liverpool and Arsenal full of regret – just £15m to sign the Portugal ace.

Liverpool, Arsenal should feel regret as Sanches worth just £15m

Sanches is worth so much more than £15million. His age, his quality, his already impressive experience, his Champions League proven status is proof that he is worth easily double that. But Lille need a sale.

They need a sale in the summer because his contract expires in 2023 and there is no chance Sanches signs a new deal. But Milan are set to win the race and lure him to Serie A for the bargain fee, to replace Franck Kessie.

Liverpool need a midfielder – having failed to properly replace Gini Wijnaldum. Arsenal desperately tried to sign a midfielder in the summer and Granit Xhaka does need replacing. Sanches is ideal for both clubs.

So, with Maldini and Milan set to win the bargain £15million race, Liverpool and Arsenal will feel regret if they cannot convince Sanches to move to the Premier League before Milan pull off what is a major coup.
