Jack Clarke made his Tottenham Hotspur debut last month.
The 19-year-old winger came off the bench to earn a brief cameo in the Europa League win over LASK in North London.
And you could sense the youngster’s pride and relief afterwards, telling Tottenham’s website that it was a ‘dream come true’ and that he just wanted to repay Jose Mourinho’s faith in him going forward.
But if one rumour is true, Spurs might be planning to put another obstacle in Clarke’s way.
Being a winger, the former Leeds United gem has so much competition – Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn, to name a few.
And according to 90 Min, the North Londoners are now keen on signing Cruz Azul wide man Orbelin Pineda and, if true, it’s just another obstacle for the teenager to contend with.
The LASK appearance will have made Clarke – who joined for £10 million 16 months ago – think that he was finally making progress with the Lilywhites.
But the arrival of Pineda would be a sobering reminder that he’s still pretty far away from being a regular fixture in Mourinho’s senior squad.
