Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to Gareth Bale clarifying his comments about his future.
Last week, the Real Madrid loanee caused a bit of a stir by stating that he won’t be at Tottenham next season and suggesting that he may have used the club to build up his fitness for the Euros.
But now Bale has made it clear that he has to go back to Real Madrid because his contract states that he ‘legally’ has to do so, as quoted by the Independent.
Bale’s comments have been met with a mixed reaction from the Spurs faithful.
There are sections who believe his previous comments have been met with an overreaction, whilst others feel he shouldn’t have implied that he returned to North London to build up his fitness.
Whatever anyone’s thoughts are, the only thing that matters is what Bale does on the pitch from now until the end of the season.
If he produces the goods – guiding the club to the Champions League and winning the League Cup – then all will be forgotten about.
