Ouasim Bouy’s loan spell at Cultural Leonesa from Leeds United has gone disastrously so far.

Leeds United gave Ouasim Bouy a chance this summer in the hope that the one-time wonderkid would finally get his career on track.
Once a star in the Ajax youth academy and a promising signing for Juventus, the Moroccan found himself without a club following his release from the Serie A champions and an ill-fated tally of six loans in the space of five years.
It is somewhat ironic, then, that as soon as Leeds handed Bouy a contract they sent him away elsewhere. And the 24-year-old’s spell at Leeds’ feeder club, Spanish second division side Cultural Leonesa, doesn’t exactly suggest that he could be a future star of The Whites’ first-team.

So far, Bouy has managed just 133 minutes of football for Leonesa and has been an unused substitute more often than not. Clearly, he has failed to win over manager Ruben de la Barrera Fernandez.
Though it goes without saying that there is a huge gulf in quality between the respective second tiers of Spain and England. If Bouy cannot cut it in the Segunda division, what chance would he have of breaking into Leeds’ squad when he returns at the end of teh season?

Especially when you consider that the prodigious Ronaldo Vieira, not to mention highly-rated summer signing Mateusz Klich, have both struggled for opportunities under Thomas Christiansen this season.
As it stands, Bouy is looking like a blemish on an otherwise impressive summer of recruitment from Leeds.
