Frank Lampard has been speaking to Sky Sports after Everton suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham.
There were barely any positives to take from the hammering, although the 43-year-old singled out one player who didn’t let himself down.
What’s the story?
Well, Lampard looked utterly crestfallen in his interview, although he still found a moment to praise Anthony Gordon for his performance.
The Toffees boss said: “The important thing is I lead it and positivity stays – not the stupid positivity, there is nothing positive about tonight other than Anthony Gordon and a couple of performances of credit where people didn’t give up.”
In truth, the 21-year-old was outstanding, and he didn’t deserve to be on the losing team in north London last night.

As WhoScored shows, Gordon earned the highest match rating of any Everton player with a score of 6.89 after his eye-catching display.
The England Under-21 international recorded two key passes and four successful dribbles, while he also won four freekicks for the Toffees.
Defensively, Gordon also put in a fine shift, making four successful tackles.
Anthony Gordon wasn’t the only positive for Everton
In our view, there was one other player who deserves praise for his performance against Spurs – Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Almost every Everton player performed woefully, but in addition to Gordon, the Frenchman put in a shift which doesn’t deserve to be ignored.

As WhoScored shows, Doucoure made five successful tackles, while also registering two key passes and winning one freekick.
The 29-year-old also completed 90% of his passes, and had 73 touches of the ball against Antonio Conte’s men.
It wasn’t Doucoure’s best performance by any means, although he did his job while others let him and Gordon down in N17 last night.
