Juventus loanee Pablo Daniel Osvaldo was lambasted by the Italian press for misfiring against Lyon and hit back with a Twitter tirade.
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo’s transition from Southampton to Juventus hasn’t been as smooth as he might have liked.
The Italian international striker was exiled from Southampton after brutally attacking teammate Jose Fonte in training.
Osvaldo could hardly hide his delight as he arrived on loan at Juventus with the intention of re-launching his career and booking a place at the World Cup.
But things haven’t exactly been going according to plan and Osvaldo’s latest performance in Juventus’ 1-0 Europa League win at Lyon brought harsh criticism from the Italian press.
The ex-Roma man was paired with Carlos Tevez, who is suffering from a European football scoring curse and he was almost anonymous at the Stade Gerland.
“I always give everything on the pitch, fighting for every ball as if it’s the last, goals and games come because I am good,” he said.
“And everyone who doesn’t believe in me can shut up, including the idiots who watch from distance.
“A moment of healthy madness… Good night everyone,” he concluded.
Whether Osvaldo will keep getting chances at Juventus remains to be seen with Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco waiting in the wings.
