Tottenham Hotspur’s target is to win the Champions League, says Osvaldo Ardiles.
Osvaldo Ardiles has told The Times that Tottenham Hotspur’s target is to win the Champions League.
Tottenham are playing in the Champions League this season after finishing third in the Premier League during the 2015-16 campaign.
The North London outfit are a massive club, but they are not regulars in Europe’s premier club competition.
Under manager Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs have progressed massively over the past two seasons and are aiming to win the league title this campaign.
Former Tottenham midfielder Ardiles has praised Pochettino, and has stated that the aim of the club is to win the Champions League title.

“I think Mauricio has done an incredible job,” Ardiles told The Times. “He has transformed the club from being a mid-table club to one that is challenging for honours. There is this culture of togetherness that I have not seen for a long, long time.
“He qualified for the Europa League, then the Champions League. Now people are expecting more and more and that’s exciting.
“The aim, of course, is to win the Champions League. I think he can fulfil his ambitions at Tottenham.”

Tottenham can become one of the biggest clubs in Europe, but that will take time.
While winning the Champions League should be a long-term target for Spurs, in the short term, Spurs should be aiming to establish themselves in the premier European club competition, just like their neighbours Arsenal have.
Spurs should be aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League again this season and qualify for the Champions League for the second year in a row.
