The 25-year-old Argentina international recently underwent a surgery to cure a hip problem.

Lamela has been on the sidelines for five months, and it does not look likely that he will play again this season.
Even if the former AS Roma star recovers before the end of the season, he would not be able to make a meaningful impact. Perhaps a good summer break would help the Argentine for the 2017-18 campaign.
With Tottenham almost certain to feature in the Champions League next season, Lamela would play a key role for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in Europe.
