Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles got the better of Piers Morgan this afternoon.
Osvaldo Ardiles, ex Tottenham Hotspur player
Tottenham’s win over Arsenal at Wembley today was certainly an impressive one. Whilst they did not score as many as their second-half dominance may have warranted the performance was sublime from Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
It was a win that left one Tottenham legend ecstatic on Twitter. Ossie Ardiles, the Argentine who spent ten memorable years at White Hart Lane and later managed the side, took to his official account to share his praise and admiration for the Tottenham players who performed so well:
He did not however stop there. He went on to troll one very famous Arsenal fan, who is universally unpopular with the Tottenham fanbase.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal
Piers Morgan had earlier predicted that Arsenal’s new striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be the man to down Tottenham at the home of English football. But the Gabonese striker was shackled throughout the match by Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen.
It was something that Ardiles could not help but point out to the TV presenter and former newspaper editor:
Ardiles is already adored by Tottenham, and football fans in general, but this latest act certainly gives him some bonus points in the popularity stakes.
