Tottenham Hotspur duo Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose were both linked away over the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Ossie Ardiles has told The Mirror that he is really pleased to see Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose stay at the club.
Spurs have started the new season well with three wins and one defeat, and it has all come after a season filled with disappointment for staff and fans.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were unable to bring in any summer signings, so whilst the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool were strengthening their squads, Spurs are left to go with virtually the same squad which ended last season.
That has been hugely underwhelming, but it has essentially forced Pochettino to bring in players from the cold, having previously been keen to sell them.
Defender Alderweireld, left back Rose and midfielder Mousa Dembele all fit that bill, as Sky Sports reported last month that Pochettino and Spurs were willing to sell all of them in the final stages of the transfer window.
Each have their issues; Alderweireld has a £25million release clause in his current deal which can be activated next summer, with no new deal in the offing, Rose has publicly criticised the club’s transfer policy and suffered injury hell over the last 18 months, and Dembele is out of contract at the end of the season.
Pochettino would have had his reasons to sell any of them, but has now brought all of them back into his side, with the trio all starting the recent 3-0 away win at Manchester United.

Now, Tottenham legend Ardiles has told The Mirror that he is ‘incredibly happy’ to see Alderweireld and Rose back in the fold, suggesting that the can still play a part in an exciting time for the club in light of the lack of signings.
“To bring players in, they would have to be better than the ones already at the club, so I admire them for sticking with players instead of panic-buying,” said Ardiles. “I’m incredibly happy that we have kept certain players, like Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose, when a lot of people were saying they were off.”
“So in all, it’s an exciting time to be associated with Tottenham – a wonderful manager, wonderful players, a wonderful training facility and, soon, a wonderful new stadium,” he added.
