Ossie Ardiles has applauded Tottenham Hotspur trio Juan Foyth, Erik Lamela and Paulo Gazzaniga after they all featured for Argentina during the November international break.

Argentina played Mexico twice over the break, winning 2-0 on both occasions. Foyth started the first match in a three-man defence on Saturday while Lamela came on.

In the second clash on Tuesday evening, Lamela started the match on the wing while Gazzaniga replaced Geronimo Rulli on the hour break as Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi found the back of the net.

Ardiles, who won 52 caps for Argentina throughout his career, was delighted to see the trio play for Argentina throughout the two matches, declaring his pride to see the trio shine for their country.

Foyth, 20, has broken into the Spurs side of late and despite his worrying Premier League debut in which he conceded two penalties against Wolves, he redeemed himself with the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Gazzaniga has also impressed when given the chance in between the sticks, thanks to injuries and suspensions to Hugo Lloris. His best performance came in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven.

Foyth and Lamela are expected to feature for Spurs on Saturday evening against Chelsea, with Lloris likely to start overt Gazzaniga after the French captain kept a clean sheet for his country against Uruguay on Tuesday night.
