Tottenham earned an excellent 2-0 victory over Man United on Wednesday night.
Tottenham Hotspur legend Ossie Ardiles has described Manchester United’s performance as “embarrassingly poor” on Twitter after Spurs earned a comfortable 2-0 victory over Jose Mourinho’s side.
Spurs could not have started any better as Christian Eriksen found the back of the net after just 11 seconds with an easy finish from eight yards out, before Kieran Trippier’s cross was turned into his own net by Phil Jones.
Hugo Lloris was forced to make a number of saves to keep out Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard, but Spurs were more than comfortable as they earned an excellent three points.
Ardiles, who both played for and managed Tottenham, sent his congratulations to Mauricio Pochettino and the Spurs players before describing United’s performance.
Spurs paraded new signing Lucas Moura at half-time during the win, as Wembley rapturously applauded the Brazilian winger following his move from French giants Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.
The north Londoners have now lost just one match in their last 19 league and cup outings, but will need to be at their best on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.
