Osijek striker Dion Beljo has outlined his love for Newcastle United and Leeds United as interest in his signature mounts.
Everybody seems to be looking for the next Erling Haaland.
Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko has earned ‘new Haaland’ tags having also emerged at Red Bull Salzburg.
Yet with Sesko now off to RB Leipzig, clubs are having to look at other giant strikers to try and develop into stars.
Dion Beljo admits love for Newcastle United and Leeds United
Osijek talent Dion Beljo now appears to be the next target of that ilk.
Beljo is only 20 but stands at a gigantic 6ft 5in tall and he not only looks but moves and plays like Juventus hitman Dusan Vlahovic.
Beljo is already represented by ROOF, the agency who have worked with Liverpool on deals involving the likes of Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Taiwo Awoniyi in recent times.
The 20-year-old hitman has been in great form this season, racking up eight goals and two assists in 16 league games for Osijek.
Add in 20 goals in 37 outings on loan at Istra 1961 last season and Beljo is emerging as one of Croatia’s top young prospects.
Beljo has now been speaking to Sky Germany amid claims that Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in signing him with a number of other Bundesliga clubs keen.
Beljo admitted that he has loved Manchester United because of Cristiano Ronaldo but there are two others English clubs he likes a lot.
The first is Newcastle United having felt an affinity for the club after watching the Goal! film as a child.
Beljo noted that Newcastle will probably be even better than in that film thanks to their riches in real life.
The exciting striker added that he also likes Leeds United, possibly offering a come-and-get-me plea to the Premier League duo.
Leeds are always looking for top young talent under Victor Orta and they certainly need to find a striker.
Beljo could fit the bill for Leeds, but Newcastle fancied Sesko and may see some similarities in Osijek talent Beljo.
