David Ornstein has shared on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel what Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson told him about Bukayo Saka back in 2018.
The Athletic journalist has said that when he spoke to Arsenal winger Nelson back in 2018, the 22-year-old told him that Saka was the best young player coming through the Gunners’ ranks to keep an eye out for.
Saka, who can operate as a winger, left-back or midfielder, was just starting his Arsenal career at the time.
The 21-year-old has now established himself as one of the most important players at Arsenal.
Saka has made 109 appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far in his career.
The attacker has scored 21 goals and created 20 big chances in those matches.
Saka has also played 20 times for England, scoring four goals in the process.

Like Saka, Nelson has also come through the Arsenal youth academy and is now part of the first team under manager Mikel Arteta.
The 22-year-old English winger spent the 2018-19 season on loan at German club Hoffenheim and had a loan spell at Dutch club Feyenoord in 2021-22.
What Reiss Nelson said about Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka
Ornstein said: “Actually when I went out to Hoffenheim, 2018, I think it was, he said to me that of all the young players coming through at Arsenal, the one you need to watch out for is Bukayo Saka, and I never heard of him. He hadn’t made any headlines at all, and so it proved.”
