The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has told Sky Sports News that neither will Ralph Hassenhuttl be offered the Everton job to take over from Frank Lampard, nor will he accept it.

David Ornstein says Hassenhuttl will not take Everton job

The renowned journalist also went on to reveal that the club’s main two candidates for the role are Marcelo Bielsa and Sean Dyche.

Ornstein suggested that many within the club would perhaps aspire to see Dyche appointed, as he fits the bill of a relegation firefighter.

As for Ralph Hassenhuttl, David Ornstein has told Sky Sports News that neither will he accept the Everton managerial offer, nor will the proposal be on the table.

“In terms of other options, we’ve seen Ralph Hasenhuttl mentioned. It’s been said to me that he won’t be going there [Everton] and it’s very unlikely he would take it”, Ornstein said.

The Austrian tactician, described as ‘exceptional’ by Pep Guardiola (via Football365) was given the marching orders at Southampton, as things went from bad to worse.

Despite the club making smart acquisitions which included the likes of Romeo Lavia, Gavin Bazunu and Armel Bella-Kotchap to name a few, it seems the inexperience of the fresh faces led to poor results, and the 55-year-old being sacked.

Hassenhuttl would not be the best fit at Goodison Park

While it is romantic to see Ralph Hassenhuttl or even Marcelo Bielsa take over the Everton job, Sean Dyche, who was one of the names David Ornstein mentioned would be ideal for the role.

Currently, the Toffees are in freefall and would need a herculean effort to survive relegation.

With the veteran needing time to inject his footballing principles into the side, it could make for an unholy matrimony and the historic club facing the trop.

As a result, it a nice to discover, at least from an Everton perspective that Ralph Hassenhuttl and Everton is not a link-up that is in the works, according to David Ornstein.
