Orjan Nyland joined Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
Nyland joined Villa from FC Ingolstadt in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Birmingham Mail to be worth £1 million.
The 28-year-old has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Villa, and the Norway international custodian has spoken highly of the Villa Park faithful.
Nyland told Villa’s official website about Villa Park: “It’s a beautiful stadium. It’s always a big day when you set foot inside Villa Park.
“I always look forward to the next game when we play our matches – the fans are vocal, we have big support and the crowds have been very large. I really enjoy playing there.”
Criticism
Nyland’s performances for Villa so far this season have not been great, and the goalkeeper has made mistakes from time to time.
Villa fans have strongly criticised the Norwegian this season, as reported on HITC Sport here and here.
While it is clear that the 28-year-old is enjoying playing for the Villans, the goalkeeper does need to step up in order to win over the Villa Park faithful.
Keinan Davis update
Meanwhile, Villa manager Steve Bruce has given an update on the injury situation of Villa forward Keinan Davis.
The 20-year-old has struggled with hip problems so far this season, but Bruce is hopeful that the England Under-20 international will be back in action soon after returning to training.
Bruce told Villa’s official website: “Keinan is another one. His has been a long, long time too. It’s been good to see him back on the training fields too.”
