Midfielder Rey has signed a new deal at Leeds after impressing in Myanmar.

Leeds United midfielder Oriol Rey has expressed his delight on Twitter after the Spaniard signed a new two-year deal with the club following two decent outings in Myanmar.
The 20-year-old was set to see his previous contract run out at Elland Road, but Leeds were seemingly impressed with his displays in South Asia at the AYA Bank Tour against Myanmar’s All Stars and the national side.

He has penned a two-year deal that will see the technically-gifted star remain in Yorkshire until the summer of 2019-20, despite being yet to make his competitive first-team debut.
However, a new deal may soon change that especially with Paul Heckingbottom’s faith in youth since moving to Leeds from Barnsley. Rey posted on Twitter after signing a new deal, describing himself as “very proud”.
Rey joined Leeds from Barcelona’s esteemed La Masia youth academy last summer, and was a regular member of Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side.
He will now be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Paudie O’Connor, Hugo Diaz and Ryan Edmondson into the first team – all of which were promoted into the first team towards the end of last season.
