It’s been a difficult few years for Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn.
The 21-year-old attacker burst on to the scene in 2017 when he scored against Leeds United to become the Reds’ youngest-ever goalscorer, aged only 17.
But it’s been tricky for Woodburn to continue making forward strides since then.
In January, he returned to Liverpool after a half-season loan with Blackpool expired without him really dazzling under Neil Critchley, who managed him for the Premier League club’s Under-23s.
That spell came on the back of two underwhelming loans away to Oxford United and Sheffield United in recent years, with Woodburn failing to leave a major impression on either club.
He’s back at Liverpool for now and Jurgen Klopp watched him score a hat-trick in training on Saturday as the German fielded an 11 versus 11 clash at the Axa Training Centre.
Here’s how some fans reacted to his behind-the-scenes heroics.
