Barcelona want to sign Divock Origi from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the January transfer window, according to Sport.

What’s the story?

Sport are reporting that Liverpool striker Origi is one of the players Barcelona are looking to sign in the January transfer window.

Spanish giants Barcelona are looking to sign a new striker when the transfer window opens due to injury to Martin Braithwaite.

Origi is one of the strikers Barcelona are considering.

Sell or keep?

Not so long ago Barcelona were being linked with another Liverpool attacking player, Mohamed Salah.

In September 2020, talkSPORT reported that Barcelona had made Salah their top transfer target.

The Egypt international forward himself was keen on a move, according to the report.

And now Barcelona want to sign a fringe player from Liverpool.

How the mighty have fallen…

If Liverpool get a decent transfer fee, then they should sell Origi.

The 26-year-old is a squad player at Liverpool, and manager Jurgen Klopp does not really use him.

The Liverpool no. 17 has played just two minutes in the Premier League so far this season.

The Belgium international made only starts in the league last season.

Origi is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer of 2022, with the option to extend it, according to Transfermarkt.

The 26-year-old is a versatile player who can operate as a winger or as a striker, but he is really a squad player at Liverpool.
