Liverpool striker Divock Origi was the hero against Everton.

Everton may have played admirably at Anfield on Sunday, but they still came away with a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool after Divock Origi’s dramatic late goal.
The Toffees were outstanding, dictating much of the game with a superb display, but a bizarre sequence of events in the 96th minute led to their defeat.
Virgil van Dijk sent a shot spiralling high up into the air, and Jordan Pickford couldn’t grasp the ball, and the ball dropped off the bar and straight to Origi to win the game.
Everton simply couldn’t believe how the game ended, and one interesting sub-plot to the goal surrounded Origi and links of a move to Everton.
ESPN recently reported that Everton were interested in signing Origi in January, with the Belgian lined up to bolster Marco Silva’s attacking options in the January transfer window.

A deal looked at least possible despite the rivalry; Origi hadn’t played at all in the Premier League and was a fringe player at Anfield, before a remarkable cameo against Everton.
This may be the thing that Origi needed to save his Liverpool career. Daniel Sturridge has never really convinced under Jurgen Klopp, whilst Roberto Firmino has been woefully out of form so far this season.
Origi now has a chance to salvage his Liverpool career off the back of Pickford’s error and his goal, which may just stop Silva bringing him to Everton after all in a bizarre twist of fate.
