Do Leeds have to buy Weston McKennie? A number of fans have been asking after his performance against Fulham.
The United States international made his tenth Premier League start for Leeds earlier on Saturday since arriving on loan from Juventus back in January.
After another difficult game for the American, some fans have nervously asked if Leeds have to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.
So, do Leeds have to buy McKennie? Let’s take a look…
Do Leeds have to buy Weston McKennie?
Well, the simple answer is no.
Some Leeds fans on Twitter appear to have become confused by the terms of McKennie‘s transfer to Elland Road.
Leeds have an OPTION to buy the 24-year-old for a sum of €34.5m (£30.7m) this summer according to an official document posted by Juventus on their website.

The Italian giants did receive a fixed €1.25m (£1.15m) loan fee from Leeds when they signed McKennie in January.
However, Juventus will not receive the £30.7m unless Leeds choose to trigger their option to buy the American on a permanent basis.
That will come as a relief to some Leeds fans, as McKennie struggled at Craven Cottage in his most recent outing under Javi Gracia.
The Leeds No.28 was substituted in the 79th minute having only attempted 18 passes in that space of time, with a poor success rate of just 61.1% against Fulham.
McKennie also failed to register a single key pass, shot or dribble on a day where he was very quiet in the middle of the park, picking up a yellow card as well.
As things stand, the transfer simply hasn’t worked out for McKennie or Leeds.
The Texas-born midfielder will have to step things up if Leeds are to stay in the Premier League, as they face Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle in their final run of games this season.
