West Ham United were linked with the now-Leicester man in the summer.
You could forgive West Ham United fans breathing a sigh of relief after watching Leicester City’s 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.
That is because one of their summer targets, Kelechi Iheanacho, struggled in a major way for the Foxes.
The former Manchester City hitman joined Leicester in a £25 million move but West Ham boss Slaven Bilic was credited with an interest prior to that.
Bilic opted against pursuing the Nigeria international in what looks like a brilliant decision.
Iheanacho touched the ball only 21 times in 74 minutes at the King Power Stadium last night – and one of those led to Nacer Chadli’s opener.
He wouldn’t have been a bad signing for West Ham because of that – it’s largely because he hasn’t scored in six Premier League appearances, but his performance last night reaffirmed his label as a potential big flop and the Irons boss deserves a bit of credit for steering well clear.
