The 27-year-old hasn’t played a single game all season for the Bundesliga club but even some Celtic fans are calling on him to join.

Last summer, Celtic were linked with a move for Netherlands international defender Jeffrey Bruma, who had fallen out of favour at Wolfsburg.
According to German outlet Bild, the reigning Scottish Premiership champions had prepared a bid of around £7million for the Dutchman late in the transfer window.
Although no move materialised, Bruma remains on the fringes of the Bundesliga outfit, with just one bench appearance to his name and no minutes on the pitch (Transfermarkt).
Over at Parkhead, meanwhile, the previously indomitable Hoops are looking more vulnerable than ever, with just goal difference keeping bitter rivals Rangers at bay at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Although Celtic’s defence remains the sternest in the league, with just 14 goals shipped in 20 games, Brendan Rodgers should not rest on his laurels especially when the grip on the league title is in risk of slipping.
At 27 years old, Bruma is arguably in his prime as a defender, while 25 caps for the Netherlands, appearances in the Champions League from his days at PSV Eindhoven and a stint at Chelsea are all glowing points on his CV.

Valued at 3million Euro (around £2.7million) by Transfermarkt and seemingly unwanted by his parent club, the Hoops would be stupid not to make a move for him.
Indeed, some Celtic fans are also eager to see it happen:
