Everton fans couldn’t have been happier with their summer transfer business. The Toffees brought in James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure before sealing late deals for Robin Olsen and Ben Godfrey.

Carlo Ancelotti and Marcel Brands deserve high praise in terms of signings. However, they may regret one decision made in the transfer window –allowing Moise Kean to join French champions Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan deal.

The Italian only joined the Toffees from Juventus at the start of last season for an initial £25.1 million fee (BBC).

The price tag only added to the pressure on Kean when he arrived at Goodison Park. Many fans expected the Italian to solve Everton’s goal-scoring crisis and that seemed to affect performances in his debut season in England.

Kean scored twice and assisted twice in 33 appearances in all competitions. That’s a poor record for a striker at any price tag but the pressure on his young shoulders didn’t help.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s incredible transformation meant Kean still couldn’t get in the team this season. However, since joining PSG the Italian has shown what he’s capable of.

He has started three games for the French giants and scored four goals. The Italian is outscoring stellar teammates Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

Usually a player performing so well while on loan is excellent news for the parent club. However, a hasty decision late in the transfer window has left the Toffees in a sticky position.

According to France Football (via the Daily Mail), PSG have an option to sign Kean on a permanent deal for just £18 million in the summer – £7 million less than the Toffees paid for him little more than a year ago.

Based on his start to life in the French capital, a permanent signing is a no-brainer for PSG. The Ligue 1 champions could make him their next big star or sell him for a tidy profit.

If the £18 million purchase option in Kean’s loan deal is true, Everton look likely miss out on millions.

Considering Kean is still only 20, he won’t be short of takers if PSG decide to sell him later on.
