Real Valladolid will not rule out selling La Liga starlet Ivan Fresneda amid reported interest from Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds United, sporting director Fran Sanchez tells Futbol Fantasy.
For a club like Valladolid, selling key players on a semi-regular basis remains an integral part of the blueprint.
And, after just six appearances in Spain’s top flight, Fresneda could soon become the Pucela’s latest big-money export, following on from the likes of Marcos Andre (Valencia) and Mohammed Salisu (Southampton).

According to AS, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton are keeping tabs on the highly-rated right-back. Ditto Fulham, Leeds, Wolves and a Southampton side who paid £11 million to bring Salisu to St Mary’s two-and-a-half years ago.

“We have to be prepared for what comes. We are clear about our policy as a club, what our president wants,” Sanchez explains.
“In the end, we have to have the best competitive team possible. And that happens through two things. The first, and most important, is that the team performs so that it stays in La Liga.
“And, the second part which is being able to sell players; allowing the club to continue growing in the shortest possible time. So, if an interesting offer arrives for one of our players, we are always open to listening to it. But also with the intention of not weakening the team.”
When pressed further on Fresneda, who has also been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Scottish champions Celtic, Sanchez hailed the teenager’s ‘incredibly maturity’ on and off the pitch.
“Fresneda has exquisite behaviour,” the sporting director adds. “He is a boy with incredible maturity and on the pitch. He is proving himself to be a first division player.
“At the moment, nothing has arrived. Yes, there are many rumours about teams that are following him, and that some of those are true. But, so far, we have not had any formal offer.
“The most important thing is that he continues on this path of humility, work and learning day by day. If we sell him or not, it depends on the offer.”
Fresneda has a £26 million release clause in his contract.
