Speaking on his YouTube channel, Express journalist, Ryan Taylor, has been discussing Arsenal’s January transfer plans.
It’s been widely reported for weeks now that the Gunners are in the market for a new winger, with Mykhaylo Mudryk thought to be Edu’s top target heading into the winter window.
However, according to Taylor, while Mudryk is the top target, Arsenal are also open to the idea of signing a new centre-forward next month as they look to recover from the blow of losing Gabriel Jesus for the next three months.
Arsenal open to getting a striker
Taylor shared what he knows about Arsenal’s transfer plans.
“There’s a feeling that he (Jesus) could be out for three months, and if that is the case we know that Arsenal do have Eddie Nketiah, but is he enough to sustain a title challenge? I’m not sure. That’s the feeling that you sense from Arsenal as well. They will be looking to bring in another forward player in Mudryk, but the door isn’t closed on a striker signing. It’s something Arsenal are open minded about and not ruling out at this stage,” Taylor said.
Need a striker
If Arsenal are serious about trying to win the Premier League then they definitely do need a new striker.
Yes, they have Eddie Nketiah, but the young forward has never hit double-figures in a Premier League campaign before.
If you’re going to win the league, you need to have a player leading your line who you can rely on to find the back of the net or create something most weeks, and sadly, Nketiah is not that person.
Arsenal need to go out and get a proven number nine if they’re going to win the title.
