Some Charlton fans have taken to Twitter to swoon over Josh Cullen, following their 3-0 defeat to West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

The south Londoners – managed by ex-Hammer Lee Bowyer – suffered a disappointing defeat thanks to two goals from Sebastien Haller and one from Felipe Anderson.

West Ham were ruthless on the night and their quality shone through.

However, while £45 million Haller and £36 million Anderson ran riot, it was an academy graduate of the east London club who pulled the strings: Josh Cullen.

The 24-year-old – who spent the 2018/19 and 2019/20 campaigns on loan at Charlton – delivered a composed display alongside Robert Snodgrass.

The Republic of Ireland international completed 90% of his passes, and also pulled off five of his attempted seven long-range passes.

Cullen got stuck in with three successful tackles to his name – no player on the pitch completed more.

Let’s see what some of the Charlton fans on Twitter have been saying…
