Gary Lineker says the ‘only thing missing’ from Harry Kane’s game is that he’s ‘not rapid’, but he feels the Tottenham Hotspur striker can’t do anything about that, as he told Vibe with Five.
The BBC presenter says the Tottenham hitman, who is searching to become England’s all-time leading top-scorer at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, is ‘so good’ dropping deep and when on the ball.
When the 29-year-old was coming through Spurs’ academy, he was a number ten by trade and he had that creative side to his game, before showcasing his goalscoring talent that got him into the first-team.

But it wasn’t only until Jose Mourinho stepped foot into north London did Kane start to drop deep on a regular basis and start to make the ball talk.
Former England striker Lineker, who won the Golden Boot at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, shared his thoughts on Kane.
“Harry (Kane) has done it forever,” said Lineker. “You go two games without a goal and everybody goes ‘oh, he’s not what he was. He’s lost this and that’. Nonsense.
“What you have to do is not let that affect you. Keep doing the runs. Keep doing the runs (to the far post).
On whether Harry should be in the box more: “Harry’s a different kind of player to that because he is so good when he drops deep. He is so good on the ball. The only question and thing missing from his game, and you can’t do anything about it, is that he’s not rapid.”

SHOULD KANE START AGAINST WALES?
Tottenham fans up and down the land will be screaming for Kane to be rested for England’s final Group B game against Wales at the 2022 World Cup.
Given that Kane seemingly has an ankle issue, then it’s probably not wise to start him because, at the rate he is going, the latter few months of the season could be difficult for him.
Plus, with England’s progression to the knockout stages near-on in the bag, then Kane isn’t needed, especially against a Wales side that is struggling.
