Manchester City supporters raved about Tottenham goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris, despite his side losing the League Cup final on Sunday.
It was a case of defence against attack at Wembley yesterday, as Tottenham failed to end their trophy-drought in front of 8000 supporters.
Even though Harry Kane returned to Tottenham’s starting XI, he couldn’t have the desired impact to drive his club to a first trophy since 2008.
Tottenham’s defence made the scoreline look flattering on their part, with Lloris a standout performer in between the sticks.
The problem Spurs now face is that their season could peter out to the point that they miss out on European football altogether.
Whilst Ryan Mason helped the North London outfit to a 2-1 win against Southampton in the Premier League, they didn’t start that game in a pretty fashion, just like against Man City.
And with the 29-year-old being put in a sticky situation by Daniel Levy, it does open the door for Spurs to capitulate during these last few weeks.
Lloris will be hoping less work is required when Tottenham take on rock-bottom Sheffield United next Sunday because a defeat against them will seriously anger those in North London.
