Some Liverpool fans on social media have been full of praise for Kostas Tsimikas after his performance against Leicester City.
How did Tsimikas get on?
Liverpool struggled to really move through the gears against Leicester as they lost 1-0 to the Foxes.
The Reds looked leggy and bereft of ideas, and while their usual attacking threats lacked any real bite, Tsimikas was excellent.
Indeed, the left-back was consistently going forward with conviction, and he made a number of things happen in the final third, completing three key passes and four crosses.
Credit in the bank
A number of Liverpool players have come out of this game without covering themselves in much glory, but Tsimikas leaves the King Power Stadium with plenty of credit in the bank.
The left-back has been ever-improving this season, and while he’s got the unenviable task of competing with Andy Robertson for that spot at left-back, he’s once again proven that he’s good enough to compete with the Scot.
Robertson remains suspended after his red card against Tottenham, but Liverpool can rest easy knowing that Tsimikas is a more than capable understudy.
Fan reaction
It’s fair to say that supporters were very impressed by what they saw from Tsimikas on Tuesday.
Fans claimed that he was one of the only players to have put any sort of effort in, and they gave him the praise he deserves online.
