Newcastle United fans have praised the performance of Valentino Lazaro against Manchester City.
Newcastle were beaten 5-0 by City yesterday, and did very little to encourage their fans throughout the contest.
Few Newcastle players came out of the game with much credit.
But Lazaro did at least earn some praise on a rare start for Steve Bruce’s side.
Most of Lazaro’s work had to be done in a defensive sense, as Newcastle were penned back by City for much of the game yesterday.
However, the winger did show flashes of quality, in the few moments he had a chance to attack.
Lazaro is currently playing for his Newcastle future, as his loan deal is set to expire at the end of the campaign.
It is still unclear whether they deal will become permanent, but the Shields Gazette claim that he would be open to staying on Tyneside for the long-term.
