Aaron Ramsdale has admitted that he has been impressed with new Arsenal signing Gabriel Jesus, who joined the Gunners earlier in the window in a £45m deal from Manchester City.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the England international revealed that the Brazilian attacker has been a great new addition to the squad, with Jesus already getting along with his new teammates and impressing Ramsdale in training with his attacking quality.
Jesus was signed by Arsenal to replace Alexandre Lacazette, and the 25-year-old forward has already won many plaudits from supporters, with the South Americans tar bagging three goals in pre-season, including a brace in Germany against FC Nuremberg earlier in the month.
Indeed, Jesus has brought some much-needed attacking quality to the Arsenal squad, with the Gunners also reportedly now set to sign the Brazilian’s former City teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko, with the Ukrainian close to joining in a reported £30m deal.
Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar have done well to plug crucial holes in the Arsenal squad this summer, and Ramsdale has so far been impressed with what he has seen from Jesus, who could be the Gunners’ breakout star for the new season in the Premier League.
Ramsdale said: “He’s a great guy, he chats with everyone and he always has a smile on his face. He’s got amazing talent and he also knows how to win, so I’ve been trying to pick his brains. He’s not going to change everything at this football club in terms of winning things, but if we can take 1% out of his mentality and how he plays then it’s only going to benefit us.”
Ramsdale praise of Jesus is encouraging for Arsenal’s season

Arsenal have made a lot of right moves this summer, and whilst work still needs to be done, Ramsdale’s praise for the immediate impact Jesus has made on the squad is a very encouraging sign for the Gunners, who could next season make a real go at qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
After all, the club finally have a quality goalscorer in Jesus, and if form this pre-season is anything to go by, the Brazilian international could finally be the talisman Arsenal need upfront to reliably win them games when the going gets tough.
