Should Celtic make their move for the out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur man?

If Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was not in the market for a new goalkeeper, he might be now.
The Hoops’ number one Craig Gordon endured a tough evening at Hampden Park on Saturday as England and Scotland played out a madcap World Cup qualifier.
Gordon was arguably culpable for both of England’s goals – including a last-minute equaliser from Harry Kane – and the Celtic boss could be forgiven for wanting to hedge his bets by bringing in quality competition for the 34-year-old this summer.

The Northern Irishman signed Dorus de Vries last summer, but the Dutchman, it turns out, is not a threat to Gordon, who swiftly took the number one shirt from the ex-Swansea City stopper early in the 2016-17 campaign.
Rodgers had previously worked with De Vries at Swansea, but is it time that the Bhoys chief took a look at another one of his goalkeeping options in South Wales?
Tottenham Hotspur keeper Michel Vorm has a year to go on his existing deal with Spurs and he could perhaps be tempted into a move North of the border.

The Dutchman has managed only eight Premier League starts since 2014 as he struggles to displace Hugo Lloris. At 33, you have to wonder whether Vorm is getting fed up of playing second fiddle to a player who, frankly, he won’t shift.
Rodgers brought him to Swansea in 2011 and Vorm swiftly proved himself an excellent goalkeeper, before earning a Tottenham transfer three years ago.
Unlike De Vries, he is very capable of taking Gordon’s number one shirt – and keeping it – and the Celtic boss should certainly ponder the prospect of bringing him to Glasgow.
The Scottish Premiership champs would not have to break the bank to get him, with his contract set to expire next summer.
Vorm only has a few more years left in him and it would be a shame to waste those precious years on a bench.
